Years on RSYC: 2024–2026
Lauren activates her community to preserve the environment by leading creative projects and participating in service organizations.
An environmental advocate, Lauren recently worked on a collaborative project with other Roots & Shoots Youth Council (RSYC) members and is involved in multiple sustainability initiatives at her university.
Lauren partnered with RSYC members Oona and Carolyn to produce in-person and virtual tri-state climate youth summits. In Connecticut, Lauren worked with her local art and science museum to lead a sustainability event designed to engage youth in ways that they can care for the environment. Lauren also founded and led her high school’s Roots & Shoots group.
Now in college, Lauren studies Integrative Biology and Earth and Planetary Sciences. She is a member of her university’s Environmental Action Club and Undergraduate Clean Energy Group. For fun, Lauren enjoys painting, skiing, cooking, and hiking.
Reflecting on her work, Lauren says: “I hope to inspire younger audiences early in fun, engaging ways and let them know that they are never too young to make a difference.”
