Eliana is an enthusiastic advocate for wildlife conservation and youth education.
In a recent project, Eliana collaborated with a nearby zoo to collect abandoned bird nests, which were then used for hands-on learning about local birds’ habitats and behaviors.
A certified wildlife rehabilitator, Eliana received a Roots & Shoots grant to educate individuals on wildlife rehabilitation, the importance of conservation, and steps they can take to preserve local wildlife. Eliana has also organized book drives and educational programs for young children, and founded her school’s environmental club.
Outside of Roots & Shoots, Eliana enjoys participating in musical theater, volunteering with her local zoo’s baby goats, and researching captive elephant behavior and enrichment. Eliana’s curiosity about and passion for animals showcases her dedication to making the earth an equitable place for all living beings.
Reflecting on her RSYC experience, Eliana shares: “it is a community and home which holds the most kind and passionate people who are fighting to make the world a better place.”
