Eliana is an enthusiastic advocate for wildlife conservation and youth education.
In a recent project, Eliana spearheaded the restoration of a polluted pond that had been
abandoned for 15 years.
Eliana organized the removal of garbage, weeds, and invasive plants. Today, the pond is a
thriving ecosystem, benefiting the community and local wildlife alike. Eliana has also organized
book drives and educational programs for young children. She recently founded her school’s
environmental club.
A certified wildlife rehabilitator, Eliana also volunteers at a local zoo, where she educates
children about nature and animals. She enjoys conducting scientific research on topics like algal
blooms and bird behavior. With her Roots & Shoots project grant, Eliana is helping her
community learn about and appreciate local wildlife.
Reflecting on her mission, Eliana shares, “I am passionate about dedicating my time to ensuring
that the wildlife I grew up with is there for those who come after me.”
