Daniel is a junior in Sherman Oaks, California. This is his third year on the National Youth Leadership Council! Daniel is passionate about soil health and some of his favorite projects have been developed out of this passion. Daniel plants trees for free in his community’s parkways, plants milkweed, and has empowered his community to ban RoundUp in public parks. Daniel’s favorite project is the work he is currently doing with mushrooms and mycelium to increase soil health. He is a Climate Reality Leader through Al Gore’s training, was awarded a Youth Leadership Scholarship to Bioneers, and named an Environmental Hero by California Safe Schools for creating school gardens and recycling programs. In his spare time, Daniel loves playing the drums and saxophone, writing, and film making.
