Hello and welcome to all of our members! I’m so happy to see you all!
I started this group as a way to collaborate, work together, discuss and support others in all the little things we can do each day to make the world a better place. I believe we all have the ability to make good choices that can make the world a cleaner, safer, more sustainable and happier place.
I just wrote up a report for our first Roots & Shoots project, which was a native plant project funded by a micro-grant from Roots & Shoots. I was hoping to throw a big event where people learned about all the great plants and wildlife that call my part of Florida home. The people that attended were going to receive their own plant to take home for their part of the community. However, due to the virus, I wasn’t able to plan this activity. Instead, my little family and I focused on our own yard space and how we could transform it to support our local wildlife and environment.
Even though our project didn’t go to plan, it was still great fun and I feel really good about it! It’s nice seeing the birds, rabbits and reptiles coming out to explore (and eat) our new landscape!
