Biography |
My name is Shelly Grandell I live in Morrison, CO. I have been teaching middle school science in the Denver area for 12 years. Before that, the cornerstone of my work was on public and k-12 STEM outreach as assistant director at Zacheis Planetarium in the beautiful San Luis Valley, where my husband and I both grew up. Rural science education and accessibility is what inspired me. Even though I now live and teach in the city, this is still near and dear to my heart. I volunteer with the planetarium during the summer by hosting pop-up star parties in small towns throughout Southern Colorado. I am a Space Foundation Teacher Liaison and have been involved with this organization for 8 years. Through this work, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with teachers from around the world! I love learning, and enjoy sharing that passion with my students and colleagues. Onward!
