Hi! My name is Rachel and I am a high school student in New Jersey. My passion for music began when I was very young. I was on a family trip to NYC, and while in Central Park, I encountered a man playing the flute beautifully under a vine-covered bridge. Months later when I was offered the option of joining band, there was no hesitation whatsoever. In fifth grade was when I began my journey and love for music as I played the flute. Although my passion is as strong as ever, and there are musicians who love what they do, there still truly isn’t as much youth interest in the arts, music specifically, in the area in which I live.
My mission is to incorporate music into the lives of the people in my music, especially the young ones. It is proven that music does much more than produce lovely sound for the sake of listening, but it lessens stress, improves patience and focus, and strengthens your mind. Most importantly, I can say from experience, music unites people in a way that I feel is truly unique from anything else. I feel that if I have the ability to bring music to more people, it will not only be an enjoyable activity, but it will impact peoples’ lives as a whole.
