Our mission is to empower young people to affect positive change in their communities. You can help build a better tomorrow. It starts right here. Right now.
The Roots & Shoots Model focuses on best-practices in Service Learning to grow compassion and action in young changemakers. Together, we're growing a movement.

I was 5 years old when Dr. Jane went to Gombe. I always looked forward to the specials about her work and seeing her on television interviews. I always felt compelled to communicate with animals, domestic or wild. My favorite trick is calling butterflies to sit on me or bringing fish to me when I think “Come, I want to see how beautiful you are.” It worries me that children may not have the opportunities to feel the connection to our natural world, and in my art classroom we take time to learn about and create art that can show our knowledge of animals and the importance of their habitat.
