Gardening with like-minded people in a group effort makes big tasks more enjoyable and makes community stronger. Growing food together in a sustainable way nurtures our entire being. By becoming familiar with and developing caring, respect for the place/environment our food comes from a truly reciprocal relationship forms. We maintain what sustains us with hard work, commitment and love.
I grow produce in a permaculture orchard in south St Louis city (STL), Missouri. The Carondelet Food Patch (CFP) is located on a floodplain and surrounded by vacant homes and empty lots with one major grocery store located a couple miles away. The food grown is free for anyone to harvest, with the hope that people living closest harvest the most. With direction and assistance of Seed St. Louis we are growing over 100 fruit and nut trees, berries, grapes and other wild edibles. CFP operates under the Carondelet Community Betterment Federation (CCBF), local non-for-profit organization.
I hope to meet and work with others who enjoy working toward a common vision for the good of all.
