Biography |
As a child, I spent most of my time exploring the woods, fields, ponds, and seashore of Cape Cod, which is one of our ancestral homelands. My inspiration came from my father, who innately loved science. As I grew I became aware of Rachel Carson and her work and activism. I finally made it to college at age 34 and chose to become an elementary school teacher, but over time I realized what I really wanted to do was science and using the outdoors as my classroom. I am hoping to complete my doctoral work this coming year. As part of my degree work, I have developed a K-12 program to bring all kids the outdoor learning experience.
