Biography |
I am a teacher at Polk Middle School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. It has been my honor to have worked with children, both in special and general education for 29 years. Although originally from the Midwest, I have lived in New Mexico since 1981, with a few years in Colorado and Arizona. I have always loved nature and being outside. Since I was a child, animals have played an important role in my life. Cats and dogs in my home as companion animals, and the wild creatures that inhabit our world are both important. Over the years, I have seen many changes to our world, and many are not good for our Earth and its inhabitants. Loss of habitat has dramatically affected the wild creatures that once roamed freely. I try to do my part in helping by practicing the three R’s: reduce, reuse, and recycle, as well as being kind. I hope to share my love of the outdoors and animals with my students in hopes of creating a .new generation of people who care about our world.
