Biography |
I am a sixth-grade English Language Arts teacher who loves interdisciplinary projects, especially those that involve science. For my graduate school thesis, I wrote about how the British Romantic writer Charlotte Smith instructed her readers in botany (a new branch of science at the time) through writing poetry that precisely and beautifully described many species of flora. In my ELA class, we go on ecology scavenger hunts and use the nature that surrounds us at Cambridge Lakes for inspiration. We conduct inquiry-based research projects and have discussions about new technology. Currently, we are working to form a Gardening Club.
