Biography

I am proud to work as a program coordinator for the Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy, New York. Our mission is to use art and participatory action for social and environmental justice. My main responsibilities are coordinating our radio news program, which is produced by local volunteers, and our community garden, Collard City Growers. Collard City Growers is a food justice arts and education permaculture project, located on a formerly abandoned lot in an economically and environmentally disadvantaged community.

Before working for the Sanctuary, I was a full time livestock manager for a medium-sized sheep farm in rural upstate New York. I also partner with TURF – Tiny Urban Regenerative Farm – based in Troy, which produce quail eggs/meat, rabbits, and microgreens. I approach all of my work with a regenerative philosophy regarding the ecosystems of the land, soil, community, and local economy.
