Marissa is a Junior at High Technology High School in Lincroft, New Jersey. She has been involved in her school’s Roots & Shoots club since her freshman year in high school and is currently the club’s vice president. She is now serving her first term on the Roots & Shoots Youth Council USA. Marissa enjoys combining her love of science and research with studying and advocating for the environment. She is constantly trying to introduce new projects within her own community and enjoys participating in beach sweeps bi annually. She is passionate about education, and volunteers at both her school and local libraries to help create STEM specific programming for teens.
