A summary of the results of the gardening project will be written and presented school-wide before the end of this school year (May or June).

Students are deciding how they will measure the level of success of their group’s garden in attracting endangered and decreasing pollinators (Monarch butterflies, other butterflies, and bees.)

Each student group will count the types and numbers of pollinators in their garden and the other groups’ garden plots, each week.

School garden plots are being prepared to plant the seeds the students selected for purchase with the grant funds.

Enriched soil has been purchased for each of the student garden plots.

Weeding has been performed in each plot.

Students have learned about and researched the decline of the Monarch butterfly and bee population in California, nationwide, and worldwide.

We have learned that the favorite flowers of both animals have been killed by pesticides and are growing less in nature, around the country.
