My name is Francisco J. Mendez; I am a Special Education Specialist at Young Oak Kim Academy who leads the school garden and green area projects at school. Our school is located in the middle of Downtown Los Angeles where there is a lack of green space for our students to sit around and enjoy the shade and cool breeze provide by plants and trees. Our second floor playground is nothing but asphalt and its in dire need of green vegetation and small trees to provide shade and a cool breeze to our student while playing and doing physical education activities.
