Hi, me and my mom just planted a pollination station. AKA a place with lots of flowers good for pollinators.

Hey guys, in Texas Spring time is almost here, so what do you guys think about doing a plant a native tree project? Just an idea.

I’ve got some ideas for little things you and your family can do to help the environment!
-Use cloth or any other type of re-usable napkin instead of disposable ones
-Use non-plastic toothbrushes. Can you imagine that every plastic toothbrush you ever used is still around today and will be for hundreds of years?…[Read more]

    • These are some great actions Anna! Thank you for sharing!
We do use cloth napkins. We call them ‘un-paper towels’!
And because we live in sunny South Florida, we use our clothes line to dry clothes as much as possible!
We even made the big decision to use cloth diapers when our baby was born so disposable diapers wouldn’t wind up in a landfill!

Hi I’m not the leader of this group, but I’m part of a club (EcoPact, it’s actually another group here on roots&shoots) and we’re trying to organize a climate march for Earth day. I know that it’s a long ways away, but since it might take a while to organize it/them, we could probably start now. Everyone can share where they live if they’re…[Read more]

Hi guys! My name is Anna and I’m from Three Rivers, CA. Some of the things that I am most interested in are plastic pollution, animal conservation, and climate change, which I think is really similar to you guys. With some of my friends, I created a club at our school (EcoPact-A Kid’s Environmental Society) but we made a roots &shoots account so…[Read more]

    • Hi, and welcome I joined your group it looks really cool. I think those are some really good ideas for ways to help the planet, but I live all the way in Texas so maybe we could figure out a way to do something similar, while being far apart. I think either planting a tree or a clean up on of our lakes. Oh also, about the Earth day march, awesome…[Read more]

      • Anna replied 5 years ago

That would be amazing! Do you have any friends or know any other people who might be interested in doing the march? If not, that’s okay, but if so, it would be great.

Hi guys, before roots and shoots I didn’t feel like there was anyone like me who loves the environment and animal rights, but now I’m in roots and shoots!! What’s your favorite environment/animal rights topic?

    • The things I’m most passionate about are plastic pollution and climate change. What about you, Emerson?

    • Also, if you have a topic you’re especially passionate about, you can tell us and we can make that next week’s topic for the challenges!

      • Thanks, I care about climate change, palm oil, pet trade, Ivory trade, and deforestation eat.

        • Sorry meant ECT not eat

        • I think it would be really awesome to do a week about climate change, because it seems like we’re all really passionate about that!

    • I really like learning about climate change, endangered species, marine conservation, and youth activism. That’s awesome that you’re so passionate about this!! 🙂
