My name is Dayanara Beltran and I’m 16 years old. I live in Jamaica, Queens with my parents and younger sister. I’m very passionate about protecting our Earth. What moved me to become a part of Roots and Shoots was the injustices, lack of awareness, and action my country is taking to combat our climate crisis. I feel that it is important to spread awareness about our Earth’s crisis and I believe that that can start just in our community. By informing our community members we can move them to become part of the movement.
