I have over 30 years of experience as an art educator and environmental leader at Hayes Elementary in Westland, Michigan. Since founding the school’s first student Green Team in 2016, I’ve helped students lead hands-on sustainability projects in composting, food waste reduction, creative reuse, and artivism. Under my guidance, Hayes became a 2024 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School and continues to thrive as a Michigan Green School. I’m passionate about empowering students to care for the planet through creativity and action.
