Biography |
Healthy eating has been passed down to Cassie through generations. Her grandmother, who was a professional ballerina in her younger years, taught her how to nourish her body through dance and wholesome healthy food. Cassie’s mom continued the tradition by inviting Cassie into the kitchen to prepare nutritious homemade meals for the family. When she was twelve years old after a trip to the zoo, Cassie decided she would become a vegetarian. Together Cassie and her mom founded and operated Pomegranate, an indulgently healthy cafe & eco boutique in Ahwatukee, for over a decade. Cassie’s home base is now Desert Garden Montessori where she is creative director & lead teacher at The Hummingbird Nest.
Cassie’s skill and experience in the kitchen are mixed with a heaping dose of imagination and an appetite for new flavors. A creative at heart, Cassie loves playful collaboration and connecting community through food. Cassie is a graduate of the Culinary Nutrition Certificate Program at The Natural Gourmet Institute, NYC and completed an English degree to strengthen her communication and creative writing skills at ASU.
Cassie whole-heartedly believes that healthy food should be a right not a privilege. She is dedicated to helping alleviate food inequality amongst children in underserved communities and nourishing children from all walks of life. Like a little sprout that needs sunshine, rich soil, and time, Cassie is planting seeds of love and nurturing her dreams.
