I am the Youth Programs Recreation Coordinator for Mountain Home AFB Youth Center. We run after school programs for 9-18 year olds. We focus largely on what our local schools do not: arts, physical education, mental and emotion health and community service projects. We also run different clubs for each of these categories. For example, we have a leadership club for 10-13 year olds that focus on community service projects throughout the year. Last year they collected donations for a variety of different things throughout the year and this year they plan on doing yard clean ups and community gardens for deployed families.
