Idea: What if we all try planting or contributing to a bee/butterfly garden? And we can also try volunteering for places that help the earth?

Hi all, if you’re looking for another way to help stop deforestation, look at the toilet paper that your family uses. A lot of common brands such as Charmin, Ultra Soft, and Cottonelle cut down a lot of trees and use no recycling to make a lot of their toilet paper. Other brands such as Seventh Generation and more use recycled paper or bamboo,…[Read more]

Fashion and clothing actually has a large environmental impact! For more sustainable clothing, here are some ideas:
-buy already used clothes from thrift stores
-after you are done with your clothes, donate them to thrift stores and hand them or hand them down to younger siblings, cousins, neighbors, or people you know

Here’s a activity you can do this week to learn more about climate change! It’s a really good video and loved it.
Its 46 minutes long.
P.S. Don’t worry about the activity pages, Science Mom shows them on the video.

Hi everyone! So for our next project, we’re going to be focusing on soil regeneration and learning about it. I definitely don’t want to stop with the food waste work, but it can be difficult to do lots of things virtually since we’re all from different places. So, we’ll focus on connecting food waste to soil regeneration. To start, try and…[Read more]

Sure! That’s a great idea! We can discuss how we will carry out this project, and see how we can help.

I’m on the RSYC (a council of roots and shoots leaders) and we just had our 2021 virtual summit! It was incredible, (you can check it out on youtube if you’d like) and we learned about soil regeneration. Would anyone be interested in including that as a focus in our next project, while connecting it to food waste?

Also, the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) just released a new report, if you haven’t heard. It’s a “red code for humanity” so we really need to act on climate change AS SOON AS WE CAN. If you are interested in meeting with your elected officials in the United States (it’s not as scary as it sounds) and talking to them about…[Read more]
Good idea! 💡 Unfortunately I don’t really have a backyard for plants, but I do see places to volunteer that help the planet!
I like the idea, too! I have a big, BIG backyard, so I could do one there! Do you think that would help?
