WEEKLY IDEA #2-Planting trees
On a different group, Emmy had said he was wanting to plant some native trees, and that’s a really good idea! So the new idea is to look up some native trees/flowers and other plants in your area, and see if you can get some from your local nursery! Or you can order seeds online, and then try planting them. Trees and…[Read more]

Hi guys we are going to start having weekly ideas that you can do wherever you live. If you have any ideas, please share them.
WEEKLY IDEA #1- Composting
Did you know that 30-40% of all food in the U.S. is wasted? A lot of that food goes to landfills, where it is a big contributor to methane, a greenhouse gas that is really, really bad for climate…[Read more]

We are trying to organize a climate march for Earth Day! Would anyone else be interested?
Anna posted an update in the group Project Green Team 4 years ago
Hi guys! My name is Anna and I’m from Three Rivers, CA. Some of the things that I am most interested in are plastic pollution, animal conservation, and climate change, which I think is really similar to you guys. With some of my friends, I created a club at our school (EcoPact-A Kid’s Environmental Society) but we made a roots &shoots account so…[Read more]
Hi, and welcome I joined your group it looks really cool. I think those are some really good ideas for ways to help the planet, but I live all the way in Texas so maybe we could figure out a way to do something similar, while being far apart. I think either planting a tree or a clean up on of our lakes. Oh also, about the Earth day march, awesome…[Read more]
That would be amazing! Do you have any friends or know any other people who might be interested in doing the march? If not, that’s okay, but if so, it would be great.

Hi guys, before roots and shoots I didn’t feel like there was anyone like me who loves the environment and animal rights, but now I’m in roots and shoots!! What’s your favorite environment/animal rights topic?
The things I’m most passionate about are plastic pollution and climate change. What about you, Emerson?
Also, if you have a topic you’re especially passionate about, you can tell us and we can make that next week’s topic for the challenges!
Thanks, I care about climate change, palm oil, pet trade, Ivory trade, and deforestation eat.
Sorry meant ECT not eat
I think it would be really awesome to do a week about climate change, because it seems like we’re all really passionate about that!
I really like learning about climate change, endangered species, marine conservation, and youth activism. That’s awesome that you’re so passionate about this!! 🙂
Same, at Starbucks I put up flyers about orangutans, and you said marine conservation, I love that!
That’s awesome! I think it’s really cool how kids like us are making a difference!
Yeah! Have you heard of David Attenborough or Jane Goodall?
Yes! I am signed up for the Jane Goodall Institute, so I get email updates and things that they’re doing to make a difference. I think you should sign up for the Jane Goodall Institute if you are passionate about orangutans.
Great idea!
Oh, gotta go bye!!
Me too, I get their newsletter as well. Here’s the link to their website if you want to check it out: https://www.janegoodall.org/
