Today August 22 is official, we have consumed all the resources produced by the earth for this period of 2020. Due to the pandemic, this year the date of resource depletion was delayed by 21 days for a calendar year. At this time, consciousness is not a choice but a necessity, if we really want to survive as a species.
It is time to understand that large governments or corporations are NOT going to take ecological measures, since they give priority to reducing costs, even to cutting down complete forests and pollution of rivers. An example of this is what happened in Indonesia where companies such as McDonald’s, Doritos among others, made an agreement with the government and paid a lot of money to cut down a large part of the forest of Borneo (one of the lungs of the earth), with the intention to plant palms. Why? Palm oil is much cheaper than conventional oil.
The only thing we can do before this summons or become individually aware, not all the darkness in the world can extinguish the light of a candle (Buddha) Let us set the example and teach our children, brothers, nephews, friends … the importance not to throw garbage, to recycle, to plant. We can sit idly by and see how we collapse, or we can do our bit to build a more conscious and self-sustaining world.
