Aspiring Environmentalist
My name is Angela. I’ve always had a passion for the environment and all living creatures.
I have a degree in environmental engineering. During my college career, I was a science intern for Upper Oconee Watershed Network where I helped monitor local streams.
My duties involed:
• Creating excel spreadsheets from chemical and visual data recorded at quarterly events.
• Attending quarterly events and help with stream sampling and chemical analysis.
• Assisting UOWN’s Science and Monitoring Committee in developing a map data sheet that would display basic sample site characteristics as well as conductivity, turbidity, E.coli, and biological score throughout their research years.
I’ve recently moved to SC and started to get involved with the Charleston Waterkeepers by helping them and the Department of Natural Resources with debris clean up from their recycled oyster shells, which are uses to build reefs.
Once I’ve acquired a water quality monitoring kit, I hope to get involved with the Creek Watchers so that I can help monitor our local waterways.
