I’ve always felt a deep connection to animals and the natural world, but an experience in 2013 truly changed my life….
While visiting Gombe National Park in Tanzania, I had the incredible opportunity to meet Jane Goodall and spend time in the place where she studied chimpanzees. During that visit, she asked me to make a promise to start a Roots & Shoots group in my own community. That promise never left me.
So now I’m stepping into this new chapter, one focused on bringing people together here in Boise to create meaningful, local change. Through Roots & Shoots, I hope to inspire young people and adults to care for animals, support our community, and protect the environment in ways that are tangible and empowering. This work feels personal to me….it’s about connection, compassion, and following through on a promise that started in Gombe all those years ago.
