The NOT Buying It Collective

Group Description

Calling craftivists of all ages! We are a gift-economy collective meeting up to “make things better” and challenge unsustainable consumer-culture norms. We repair and share the stuff we already have and whenever possible we support each other in the common goal of NOT buying new stuff! We also host craft workshops that highlight the use of found, traded, gifted, wildcrafted, up cycled, recycled, reclaimed, anything but purchased new – supplies. As we share our skills, as well as our stuff, we help each other and the environment by NOT buying into the materials economy model. The Not Buying It Collective is a place where through questioning and reshaping our consumption habits we direct our focus from amassing personal belongings to finding a deep sense of personal belonging to the earth and each other. And, we have a ton of creative fun doing it!
