Group Description
We are striving to bring awareness about endangered wood turtles that are native to Massachusetts and how we can conserve this species. Wood turtles have been illegally traded and their habitat has been fragmented due to human development. They are listed as endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) red list! Another reason for their decline is water pollution. These turtles are located in streams that contain sand and gravel near forests. We are here to bring awareness and protect these turtles through small, but effective actions.
