Our Roots & Shoots chapter in The Woodlands is dedicated to protecting the local environment through youth-led action, education, and community involvement. Our main goal is to preserve the natural ecosystem around us by promoting sustainable living and supporting native wildlife. We organize projects such as habitat restoration by removing invasive plants and planting pollinator-friendly species, as well as regular cleanups along Spring Creek and local trails to keep our waterways and parks free from litter. We also focus on raising awareness about the importance of protecting local wildlife and habitats by creating educational campaigns that teach community members how to coexist safely with animals and reduce human impact. Additionally, we work to promote composting and minimize food waste, encourage tree planting to maintain and expand our tree canopy, and engage with local schools through environmental workshops. Through these efforts, we aim to inspire a strong sense of responsibility and care for the environment in everyone around us.
