Group Description

Welcome to the Food Waste Fighters! We are based in San Diego, but would love to have members from all over the country to make even more widespread change! Food waste is an incredibly prevalent issue, especially in our community. When food is unused for a variety of reasons, it begins to decompose and release an incredibly dangerous greenhouse gas, methane. Methane has been measured by the EDF to be 84 times more potent than carbon dioxide, so this group aims to decrease that by advocating for food waste and teaching ways to prevent it.
