Organize or join a Hike for Hope!
Honor Dr. Jane Goodall’s remarkable life by hosting a Hike for Hope in your community.
- Ready to rally some friends, family members, a club you belong to and/or interested community members?

Looking for a new way to get folks engaged in your local community action projects?

All are welcome! Use the guide linked below to plan and add your hike to the Jane Goodall Hike for Hope USA event calendar. You can also search the event calendar to see if there’s a hike going on near you that you can join. This is an all ages and any location grassoots movement to connect to nature and honor Jane.
Good To Know
- Add your hike, large or small, to the JGI USA calendar. It’s cool if it’s just one or two people. The point is to get out there!
- You do not have to make your event public on the calendar. Public or private, it’s important for JGI to know how many hikes are happening across the U.S. so we can track impact and engagement.
- If you live/go to school near a R&S Basecamp, you can join their Hike for Hope and/or organize an event of your own.
Not Just a “Hike”
While your event must follow the Hike for Hope ethos of coming together in community for time spent outdoors, there are a variety of ways to do this! Examples include:
- A trail hike
- A nature walk
- Community birdwatching
- Guided forest bathing
- Exploring a nearby park
- And more!
