Hi guys we are going to start having weekly ideas that you can do wherever you live. If you have any ideas, please share them.
WEEKLY IDEA #1- Composting
Did you know that 30-40% of all food in the U.S. is wasted? A lot of that food goes to landfills, where it is a big contributor to methane, a greenhouse gas that is really, really bad for climate change. However, a lot of that food has a lot of nutrients that can be turned right back into soil. In fact, soil with compost in it usually is very fertile, so it will help your garden or other plants grow. Plus, it’s free! So how do you start composting? It’s pretty easy. Just get a container, or use a small patch of land, and start putting your kitchen scraps like banana and orange peels, bell pepper stems, or other food there. When you are done with your plate of food, instead of scraping it into the trash, compost it! Eventually, you’ll have some very rich and fertile soil which in turn, you can use to grow more food. Then, when you are done eating that food, you can compost it, and it turns into a cycle!
