Caymus channels creativity and collaboration into environmental action.
As the founder of Trash Turtles, Caymus leads waste-reduction initiatives and
educational campaigns in her community.
With the motto of “save the planet one piece of trash at a time,” Caymus’ work focuses on
raising awareness and mobilizing local action for sustainability. An active public speaker since
age 10, Caymus regularly addresses city commissioners and other decision-makers in support
of her environmental initiatives. She is also an active member of the Tampa Bay Roots &
Shoots Alliance which brings together environmental organizations from across her community.
Beyond Roots & Shoots, Caymus creates content for social media, speaks at public events, and
serves as a mentor to younger environmental advocates. She is a musician and active in
several ensembles at her high school and swims on the varsity team.
“I’m here to accomplish great things through hard work, collaboration, and a positive mindset,”
Caymus says.
