Preston is a changemaker determined to help people in need, focusing on environmental justice
and youth development.
Preston’s current projects include an environmental podcast in partnership with Malcolm
& We! aimed at amplifying youth voices in environmental activism.
He is also a member of the Hudson River Estuary Restoration & Conservation group and works
with Columbia Neighbors to support English Language classes for asylum seekers.
Outside of Roots & Shoots, Preston studies computer science at college, plays basketball and
baseball, and enjoys anime and cooking. He also broadcasts sports for WKCR, New York’s
local radio station.
Reflecting on his philosophy of shaking things up, Preston says: “If you go down the same path
as those before you, you will run into the same problems and nothing will be fixed.”
