Lauren continues to activate her school and community to preserve the environment and help people experiencing food insecurity.
Lauren is deeply involved, leading her high school’s Roots & Shoots chapter, working with other campus clubs to implement schoolwide events.
She has organized successful Thanksgiving Food Drive that provided meals to 100 families, created a pumpkin composting event after Halloween to promote waste reduction, and is also planning a regional youth environmental fair.
Outside of Roots & Shoots, Lauren volunteers at the Bruce Museum’s Seaside Center and enjoys hiking, skiing, and baking. She is actively involved in her school’s Environmental Action Club and is pursuing a Gold Award through Girl Scouts.
Reflecting on the Roots & Shoots summit, Lauren says: “I loved getting to meet everyone, especially through the stewardship project—it was such a fun and collaborative experience!”
