Licoln Kiosk Drought Tolerant and Beautification

  • Location
    Santa Monica, California

The Problem

The "front door" of our school is not a well-traveled street. Instead, community members and neighbors just see our school's kiosk on the corner at a four-way stop. Some drought-tolerant plants are planted underneath the school's kiosk but, at this point, it is a hodge-podge of random plants. Students take a short cut through this area. It is also, unfortunately, a place where people toss trash. Simply this area is not beautiful, nor does it show that students care about sustainable landscaping.

Our Plan

We plan to get dirty and closer to our earth by preserving the California natives, planting other drought-tolerant varieties, and making this part of our campus more aesthetically appealing or our community and neighbors who travel through.
