To create and donate at least 30 care packages consisting of important essentials such as toiletries, snacks, water bottles, and clothing items, to a local homeless shelter for individuals who are homeless to support them and demonstrate that people care about their well-being and situation.
To obtain and organize the items to create the care packages, my Roots & Shoots club will hold a collection drive outside of our local department store for supplies. When customers go inside, club members will provide them with a list of recommended items that while they are shopping could pick up and donate to us on their way out. To create the packages, the club will hold an event at school to discuss the problem of homelessness including facts to rid of the stigma surrounding these people and instead find ways to support them during this difficult time even beyond care packages.
