The Problem

Our campaign will encourage self-sustainability within the community. We have planted a garden and raised chickens by incubating eggs in the classroom. We want to grow pesticide free fruits and vegetables and range free, hormone free eggs for cooking in our farm school classroom. Our school has a school community garden. Because most of the upkeep equipment is large, shovels, rakes, garden hoses, compost bins, etc, we leave them outside. Much of our equipment has been stolen or damaged. We want to build a shed that we can keep locked to keep our tools safe.

Our Plan

We will do send out a Survey Monkey to members of our community to evaluate their knowledge about the dangers of pesticides and hormones in our children's diets. We will assess how children feel eating a typical diet that contains GMO's, hormones, and pesticide treated fruits and vegetables. We will educate the families to change their food purchases and eating habits. At the end of our campaign we would resend the survey to evaluate the change in knowledge as well as the change in health of the members.
