The Problem

The Roots and Shoots division of the Lauralton Hall Environmental Club wishes to create a Monarch Way station. We are in the process of getting all of the plants to support the life cycle of the Monarch. We have recently learned that Monarchs need native milkweed rather than plant-nursery varieties. Nonnative varieties can keep Monarchs in the wrong area for too long because the food supply lasts too long.

Our Plan

Our project will provide food, water, mud (for butterflies to suck nutrients from), and shelter (plants should be different heights as well as varieties.) We also want to attract other native insects, moths, and other butterflies to our garden.
