Roots & Shoots History: Three years with Roots & Shoots
Samyukta is a senior in Marietta, Georgia. This is her third year with the National Youth leadership Council. Her favorite Roots & Shoots project was creating a social activism workshop for young girls in her community. The workshop she created allowed marginalized groups the opportunity to analyze issues and create solutions with real impact. Inspired by the success of her workshop Samyukta is planning larger-scale events through her program IuvaTech, an organization I founded to educate, engage, and empower minority students to solve social issues through STEAM and computer science. On top of enriching the science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) fields for minority groups, Samyukta is also a commended Foyle Young Poet, All-State Chorus performer, and enjoys hiking.
