Roots & Shoots Group: Gateway High School Roots & Shoots

Dana is a Junior from Kissimmee, Florida. This is her first year on the National Youth Leadership Council.  Her favorite Roots & Shoots project is the Osceola Women’s Wellness project. Dana’s Roots & Shoots group has been working to make menstrual hygiene products accessible to students across their school district.  This project has taught her to speak up and ask difficult questions, especially when she’s feeling silenced. In addition to her work on this project, Dana is passionate about social justice and human rights, especially as they relate to politics, mental health, education.
