Grade: Sophomore in Winter Park, Florida

History with Roots & Shoots: Three years with Roots & Shoots

Claire is an sophomore from Orlando, Florida. This is her third year with the National Youth Leadership Council. Her first Roots & Shoots project, The Game Exchange Box, taught her that she wanted to spend the rest of her life making a difference with others.  She is proud to see that this project is not only thriving in her community, but also spreading to cities across the country! Claire has also worked on a social action project to bring neighbors together in the face of gun violence and is passionate about advocating for better access to healthcare, especially focused on affordable insulin. If she isn’t taking pictures or swimming laps, she might be working on an invention. Claire hopes to become a doctor when she grows up so she can cure Type 1 Diabetes and never wear her insulin pump again!
