April is a freshman at UC Berkeley. This is her fourth year on the National Youth Leadership Council. One of April’s favorite Roots & Shoots projects is working as a mentor in the i-STEM program at STEMchats because she’s able to meet with students, learn about their experiences, and provide advice. As a dedicated advocate for closing the STEM gender gap, April organized a group of girls to participate in a mobile app building competition, Technovation. She has been vegetarian since 8th grade and loves playing tennis in her free time.
