Youth Leadership Council Overview

The Roots & Shoots National Youth Leadership Council provides highly motivated and dedicated young leaders throughout the United States with the training, resources and opportunities to develop into community leaders who create positive change in their own backyards and around the world. Youth Leaders emerge at the forefront of the next generation of responsible global citizens working to protect and improve habitats for people, animals, and the environment. 

Lead by members of the National Youth Leadership Council, Roots & Shoots teams have collaborated with groups and organizations across the country and around the world to facilitate the planting of over 950 trees; launched community campaigns that have banned the use of plastic bags in stores in Santa Monica, CA; and have developed a community micro-grant program that earned their team a trip to the White House as one of the winners of the Youth Sustainability Challenge! 

The actions and impacts of the Roots & Shoots National Youth Leadership Council have stretched around the globe!
