Project Description

The Little Guild is an animal shelter that is across the road from our school. After Hurricane Sandy the people from the Little Guild took a big truck down to West Virginia to rescue over 90 dogs and cats that were left in snow and water. They brought back the animals to Cornwall, but because these were not animals from CT the state could not help pay to spay and neuter the new animals. Our Roots & Shoots group decorated old Ovaltine jars and turned them into collection jars that we placed around our small town. Right before our school's winter break, we were able to deliver a check for $500.01 to help pay for the care and upkeep of the animals. (Little Guild does not euthanize any animals.)
