Shelter pet DIY toys and supply drive

The Problem

During our first meeting, the students wanted to do something for local shelters. They will use old linens, torn jeans, old tee shirts, and worn out bedding to make chew toys for the local pet shelter. They will also make cat bets/ mats from old shirts. Having visited local shelters, they observed the need for additional comforts for these animals.

Our Plan

We will conduct a drive for supplies in the school and in the community. We will meet in a week to begin the toy making process. Our toys will provide comfort to pets that are in local shelters. These animals are often lonely, sad, and scared. Having toys will help to sooth them by providing comfort in a very stressful environment.
