The goal of Roots & Shoots in the classroom is to provide the educational community with a network of resources to engage youth with their local ecosystem through the development of meaningful service campaigns. In an ideal world, we believe that the learning and teaching environment would expand beyond a brick and mortar structure. Every young person would be an invested member of the community and would be aware of the connectedness of people, animals, and the environment that make up their local ecosystem.
The Roots & Shoots National Youth Leadership Council provides highly motivated and dedicated young leaders throughout the United States with the training, resources and opportunities to develop into community leaders who create positive change in their own backyards and around the world. Youth Leaders emerge at the forefront of the next generation of responsible global citizens working to protect and improve habitats for people, animals, and the environment.
