In a world plagued by horrific events, such as recent events in Paris and Beirut, it seems as though any peace we find becomes a luxury. However, unlike other luxuries, such as time, we can actually make peace. Now is the perfect time to create some peace. Here is my recipe for peace to go with that perfect turkey feast...

Arunima’s Recipe for Peace Stuffing:

  • 20 Grams of Love
To create enough Peace for everyone to have a second helping, it's imperative that we add a large quantity of love to the pot. Everybody deserves love — our human ability to love is incredible. The more love that's given to others, the better Peace will taste.

  • 10 Tablespoons of Beauty
Beauty is tricky to acquire since there are so many different kinds. The Beauty we need for our Peace Stuffing can be found in our own neighborhood. True Beauty isn’t just seen but also felt around us. Beauty is derived from hard work that comes from our work filling our community with joy.

  • 5 Sticks of Compassion
A dish without Compassion is a dish incomplete. Compassion truly adds a strong, rich flavor to the dish. Luckily, if enough beauty and love were added, there's already plenty of compassion. In fact, there's probably enough for everyone and even for unexpected visitors.

  • 8 Ounces of Smile
Smiles should be added to taste and the more you add, the better it tastes. It's good to add as much as you can. As Mother Teresa said, "Peace begins with a smile.(She must have been cooking up some Peace Stuffing.) Smiles might seem like a garnish to this dish. However, a little amount of Smile gives those eating a warm feeling inside. This is a feeling that makes them want to spread the recipe of Peace Stuffing to others.

  • 10 Milliliters of Thankfulness
Any Thanksgiving dinner needs to include Thankfulness. Thankfulness allows us to remember the savory taste of the good things in our lives and take a moment to appreciate every moment spent with the ones we love.

Each of these ingredients aids in the creation of a perfect stuffing to put on the table for Thanksgiving. Important warning about the recipe: do not adulterate any of these ingredients with ignorance — even the tiniest amount will ruin this dish. Also remember, you won’t find Peace Stuffing at the local market. It must be made at home!

Will Peace Stuffing be on the table next to your turkey this Thanksgiving?
