Participants will upload their videos to Youtube.com, then complete the special entry form
on the Roots & Shoots website in which they can share their Youtube link with the NYLC for review. Video submissions are being accepted from the Roots & Shoots network between now and March 4. All video submissions must be submitted via the Roots & Shoots special entry form
by Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at midnight EST.
Submissions will be evaluated based on the effectiveness of their statements of need, creativity and originality, evidence of research, and their technical components.
Members of the Roots & Shoots National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC), a group of active and committed young people who have demonstrated records of success and impact, will assess the video submissions.
In the first round of judging, elementary and middle school submissions will be reviewed together and high school and college submissions will be reviewed together. The top 10 highest scoring projects will be shared via the Roots & Shoots website and other social media for a network-wide voting process to choose the top three who will be eligible to receive the $1,000 grant.
